India v Netherlands: Live Cricket Scores and Updates

It is the 25th match of the Cricket World Cup 2011 tournament, India vs. Netherlands, and we are here to provide you with live cricket scores, commentary, updates and live streams. India have a lot to celebrate – so far, in this ICC Cricket World Cup tournament, they have been undefeated, whereas Netherlands have already lost two of their World Cup games, to Sri Lanka and England. Today’s game should be a no brainer, but the Cricket World Cup 2011 has already produced a few surprises, including Ireland’s victory against England, and yesterday’s, where New Zealand defeated Pakistan.

The match will be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, India. India, playing home, has a clear advantage over Netherlands. They know the field, India’s fortress in Test cricket. But Netherlands are not that easily discouraged. Yet they don’t really know their strengths and weaknesses. So far, India and Netherlands met only once, in 2003 at Paarl, where India won by 68 runs.

This year, after a tie with England and a hard fought win against Ireland, India hope to defeat Netherlands in their quest for glory, before the highly-anticipated showdown against South Africa on Saturday. On the other hand, Netherlands enter the game with a cocky attitude:

“Sachin is a legend and on top of his game in the World Cup, and he is someone everyone around here in the tournament and people like us look to play against. He is a great player,” said Netherlands’ skipper Peter Borren in a press conference before the match. “But at the same time he is a batsman who can be dismissed like other batsmen and we are looking forward to that. Any of our bowlers having the opportunity to dismiss him and that will be a great entertainment.”
